1.     Project Management Internship

Cytonn Investments is an alternative investment manager, with real estate development capability, and a primary focus on private equity and real estate investments in the high growth Kenyan Region. Cytonn has a unique strategy of coupling two compelling demand areas – the lack of high yielding investment products due to the large banking spread, and the lack of institutional grade real estate; by providing high yielding instruments to attract funding from investors, and we deploy that funding to investment grade, well planned and comprehensive real estate developments that are largely pre-sold. With offices in Nairobi, Nakuru, Nyeri and Kisumu – Kenya and Washington, DC – USA, we are primarily focused on offering alternative investment solutions to global and local institutional investors, individual high net-worth investors, and diaspora investors interested in the East-African region.

Real estate investments are made through our development affiliate, Cytonn Real Estate, where we currently have over Kshs. 82 billion (USD 820 mn) of projects under mandate across ten projects. In private equity, we invest in banking, education, and hospitality. Our financial services investments in Sub Saharan Africa are made through our Cytonn Africa Financial Fund (CAFF). Investments in education and hospitality are made through Cytonn Education Services and Cytonn Hospitality, respectively.

We are seeking highly motivated, self-driven, team players to participate in an intense 12 weeks training and analyst work in the Project Management sector. The position will afford successful individuals a unique opportunity to participate in the Cytonn Young Leaders Program.

Responsibilities

  1. Work in collaboration with real estate research team and the investment team to conduct investment opportunity analysis on potential deals in their respective sectors of specialization
  2. Work in collaboration with the project finance team to analyse and do financial appraisal for these opportunities
  3. Market segmentation and demand-supply analysis for the real estate projects
  4. Preparation of all project budgets, cash flow forecasts and detailed financial models
  5. Monitor the progress of projects
  6. Administration and supervision of projects
  7. Updating of the project progress, cash flow and returns
  8. Develop weekly progress reporting on assigned projects
  9. Any other duties as shall be assigned from time to time

Requirements

  1. Must have achieved at least a Minimum B+ Grade in high school
  2. A Bachelors Undergraduate Degree; Second Class Honours (upper division)
  3. Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  4. Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to follow data entry/department standards
  5. Excellent communication and relationship building skills
  6. Ability to carry out assigned tasks to completion with minimal supervision
  7. Keen organization and problem solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making
  8. Adept knowledge in project management

2.     Product Development Interns

Real estate investments are made through our development affiliate, Cytonn Real Estate, where we currently have over Kshs. 82 billion (USD 820 mn) of projects under mandate across ten projects. In private equity, we invest in banking, FinTech, and hospitality.

To manage the process of developing a product or enhancing existing products in order to meet customer expectations efficiently. Product Developers conduct research, develop proposals, manage stakeholders and pursue buisness development intiatives to help push developed products. The position will afford the individuals a unique opportunity to participate in both a strong incentive structure and a clear path to a fulfilling career in Product Development.

Responsibilities

  1. Opportunity Mapping – Build business cases, Product Portfolio and Scenario planning for all product initiatives, and enhance current products with a focus on monetization and market
  2. Recommend new products or improvement through online research and client engagement sessions
  3. Drive product engagement, and stakeholder and regulators’ communication
  4. Member Drive – continuous seeking membership growth for different products
  5. Stay on top of market trends, product positioning, successes and competition and recommend appropriate actions based on analysis
  6. Conduct client satisfaction analysis on product on behalf of the respective department
  7. Assist with general queries and requests from client, consultants and internal groups
  8. Develop, maintain and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures
  9. Engage with different stakeholder departments at the management level with the purpose of implementing the identified solution
  10. Any other duties as shall be assigned from time to time

Requirements
