1.     Medical Officer

Role Summary

Provide safe and efficient clinical services for outpatient and inpatients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Examining and talking to patients to diagnose their medical conditions
  • Carrying out specific procedures, e.g., performing operations and specialist investigation.
  • Monitoring and providing appropriate clinical care (medical and surgical) to patients in hospital wards and in outpatient clinic
  • Admitting patients requiring special care followed by investigations and treatment
  • Making notes and preparing paperwork, both as a legal record of treatment and for the benefit of other healthcare professionals
  • Keeping the referring doctor informed of inpatient and outpatient progress.

Qualification and Key Competencies

2.     Laboratory Technician

Role Summary

Safely collect, transport and analyze specimens and blood samples.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect blood specimens from patients, label correctly and evaluate for tests required
  • Ensure minimal turnaround time.
  • Safely perform tests and sample analysis in the areas of hematology,immunology, histopathology,
  • clinical chemistry and microbiology
  • Verify validity of all submitted samples
  • Prepare samples for storage
  • Maintain specimen inventory
  • Prepare peripheral blood films and tissue specimens for reporting by pathologist
  • Come up with an established procedure and manual of standard laboratory procedures
  • Maintain laboratory records and information comply with regulation
  • Enter results in the laboratory information management system provided

Qualification

  • Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences from an institution recognized by the KMLTTB
  • BLS qualification from an AHA accredited Training Centre.
  • Two years working experience as a Laboratory Technologist.
  • Certificate in Phlebotomy is an added advantage
  • Registration Certificate and valid practicing license issued by KMLTTB

3.     General Nurse

Role Summary

Provide pleasant, friendly, and efficient customer care services to internal and external customers a Registered Nursing Officer.

Successful candidates will rotate between the Outpatient
Department and the General Wards.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the highest possible standard of client care by adhering to the hospital standard treatment protocols and guidelines.
  • Ensure an outstanding client experience through effective triage and monitoring and evaluation of patients admitted in the hospital.
  • Administer medication and perform medical procedures within prevailing hospital guidelines and protocols.
  • Follow through investigations and procedures ordered by Doctors during ward rounds.
  • Run MCH, family planning and other clinics as assigned by Head of Clinical Services.
  • Provide comprehensive client counseling e.g., reproductive health HIV, vaccination, paps smear and cancer screening amongst other services.
  • Ensure outstanding maintenance and availability of medical equipment in the hospital.
  • Professionally and timely prepare and present regular nursing reports.
  • Assist in the formulation, review and implementation of relevant policies and procedures e.g., Infection prevention.
  • Adequately prepare and participate in health talks, presentations,Continuous Medical Education (CME) events etc.
  • Participate in clinical audits.

 

4.     Pharmaceutical Technologist

Role Summary

Provide quality, efficient and integral pharmacy services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Strict maintenance and documentation of the DDA.
  • Receiving prescriptions for medications from medical doctors and other health professionals, and dispensing the drugs to patients
  • Preparing or supervising the preparation and labelling of liquid medicines, ointments, powders, tablets, and other medications to fill prescriptions
  • Monitor storage conditions i.e., expiry status and security of the pharmaceuticals
  • Conferring with the doctor or his assistants regarding the ordering,stocking, and the pricing of the drugs
  • Keep records / take inventory of all drug stocks ordered, drugs issued to clients and stocks remaining.
  • Ensure order and cleanliness at the pharmacy
  • Evaluating labels, packaging, and advertising of drug products
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with customers which includes clinics, doctors, and other institutions
  • Perform other duties as assigned and as the profession demands.

Qualification and Key Competencies

  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology from a recognized medical training institution
  • Be registered by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board of Kenya.

5.     Clinical Officer

Role Summary

To provide clinical services mainly in the outpatient and inpatient as required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Taking history, examining, diagnosing, and treating patients’ common ailments at the outpatient health department.
  • In collaboration with the team receive and attend to patients who require emergency services
  • Appropriately refer or admit patients who require hospitalization or specialized services
  • Attend ward rounds and participate in multidisciplinary patient care
  • Undertaking clinical checks on all treatment sheets and prescriptions for suitability of treatment
  • Implementing Community Health Care activities in liaison with other health workers
  • Sensitizing patients and clients, through health talks on preventive and promotive health.

6.     Optometrist

JOB SUMMARY:

The Optometrist will report to the Branch Manager. The main responsibility for the optometrist will be performing eye examinations to check for vision problems and diseases. The optometrist will, based on the results prescribe or offer the appropriate advice to the patient while maintaining high standards of care.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Taking eye and facial measurements to correctly interpret prescriptions Guiding patients when selecting frames for proper fit and styling
  2. Inserting, removing and caring for contact lenses
  3. Advising patients on any necessary repairs or adjustments
  4. Maintaining displays.
  5. Basic bookkeeping duties associated with tracking patient’s orders and recording purchases and other necessary information for each patient
  6. Preparing work orders for optical laboratory
  7. Ensuring that all orders arrive and are to the specifications of the patient

Qualifications

  1. O-levels/A-Levels
  2. Diploma in Optometry from a recognized institution
  3. At least three (3) year experience as an optometrist

 

7.     Human Resource Manager

Role Summary

Responsible for all human resource activities such as recruitment, training, performance management, discipline and conflict management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analyzing manpower requirements, absenteeism, turnover, and other personnel statistics and prepares reports for management on a periodic and as requested basis
  • Developing wage and salaries policies for attracting and retaining employees.
  • Establishing and maintaining engaged and constructive relationships between employees and the organization.
  • Responsible for long-term strategic planning and development of operational plans for all
    the departments.
  • Developing, recommending, and implementing programs, policies, procedures, and controls regarding
    employment issues.
  • Preparing, issuing, and updating company policies and procedures as needed and informing employees of the updates.
  • Take ownership of the recruitment and selection process along with conducting new employee orientations.

8.     Finance Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensuring effective administration of petty cash.
  • Posting of cash sales/expenses in the system
  • Handle regular cash book reconciliations.
  • Ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and entered the accounting systems.
  • Handling the budgeting process in liaison with the financial controller
  • Daily sales ledger and creditors ledger accounts reconciliation.
  • Preparation of daily and monthly reports.
  • Ensuring regular invoicing, receive and receipt money.
  • Undertaking daily banking functions and bank reconciliations.
  • Carrying out stock takes.
  • Receiving and verifying goods.

Qualification and Key Competencies

  • Must be a CPA(K) finalist; degree in accounting/ finance will be an advantage

9.     Manager – Business Development

JOB SUMMARY:

Developing, implementing and overseeing the business development strategies and tactics for growth.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Developing a robust commercial strategy, sales plan and tactic to unlock the revenue potential for the Hospital.
  • Delivering revenue by building and maintaining relationships with clients consistently multi-tasking between new business acquisition and account management.
  • Reporting on return on investments of activities planned and key performance metrics.
  • Establishing marketing contacts with corporations, insurers and other third party purchasers of health care services.
  • Establish contact with other health care facilities, including clinics and hospitals for the purpose of obtaining referral business to the hospital.
  • Understanding the Hospital business model, build and measure key KPI’s
  • Be an active member in the product development process, gathering customer’s feedback and communicating it to the product and marketing team.
  • Conducting marketing surveys on current and new product concepts.
  • Monitor the client industry development and hospital’s competitive landscape, identify key trends and developments and regularly update the senior manager team, bringing ideas on new business opportunities
    to the table.

10.                         Health Records Information Officer

Role Summary

Responsible for ensuring proper documentation, storage of documents and easy retrieval.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Analysing trends and communicating these to the management.
  • Compile and maintain patient’s medical records to document condition and treatment and to provide data for research or cost control and care improvement efforts.
  • Participate in preparation of outpatient and inpatient monthly reports.
  • Scanning onto the system and safe storage of hard copy consent forms.
  • Filing, i.e., patients’ files, reports, birth notification forms and

other key correspondences.

  • Process patient admission and discharge documents.
  • Review records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.
  • Collection and filing, including electronically, of reports of other departments on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

11.                         Radiographer In- Charge

Role Summary

Provide leadership and ensure efficiency and quality radiographic services.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Empowering and motivating staff to perform to the optimum
  • Advising management on radiographic advancements and changes
  • Monitoring continuous radiation checks
  • Maintenance and sanitation of the radiographic equipment.
  • Operating CT scan and or X-ray equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues.
  • Correct positioning of patients to scan specific areas of their bodies
  • Performing warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the x-ray tubes
  • Cleaning and sterilizing CT scan and x-ray equipment to ensure safety of patients.
  • Understanding and interpreting of doctors scanning instructions accurately
  • Administer radio contrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues.
  • Assessing CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality.
  • Taking patients through the scanning procedure to ensure their comfort and providing support throughout the process.
  • Preparing examination room and ensuring it is clean and sterile.
  • Continuous monitoring of patients through the procedure while following procedures to prevent unnecessary exposure to radiation.
  • Formulating daily procedure schedules for emergency case and walk-in clients
  • Keeping tabs on supplies and ordering stock on time
  • Filling out the required paperwork on the patients’ records and other relevant documentation as required by the hospital’s management.

12.                         Community Oral Health Officer

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assessing dental condition and needs of patients using patient screening and monitoring procedures.
  • Analysing x-rays and evaluates dental needs as necessary including medical history review and dental charting.
  • Taking, developing and mounting radiographs as well as trace radiographs required for corrective treatment
  • Undertaking general treatment and care for teeth and tissue problems using specified equipment and tools and established dental hygienist procedures.
  • Full mouth scaling, polishing and prophylaxis to remove plaque and stains ensuring that sterile conditions are maintained.
  • Filling-in cavities, rebuild broken teeth, replace missing teeth, and remove unnecessary or severely damaged teeth.
  • Treat and help to prevent gum disease.
  • Reducing simple fractures of the jaws.
  • Providing patient education on dental care and write prescriptions for patients
  • Taking and making impressions of patients’ teeth for study casts/models.
  • Documenting patient dental history and/or chief complaints and/or observations
  • Documenting lab procedures and ensure follow up on results.
  • Supervising staff and clinic processes concerning dental department
  • Manage the dental department to achieve local and international standards.
  • Recommending and ordering dental materials, equipment and instruments ensuring they are cost effective and maintain proper bookkeeping of the same.
  • Keeping up-to-date with new developments within the profession maintaining patient dental records.
  • Adherence to the company’s policies on IPC, SOPs, HR, SECURITY etc.
  • Ensuring that established procedures are adhered to in order to maintain quality assurance in delivery of oral health services.

Education, Experience & Skills
