1.     Deputy Director Medical Services

Position Summary

Reporting to the Director Medical Services, the Deputy Director Medical Services shall be responsible for provision of clinical governance by continually improving the quality of services and safeguarding high standards of care in the inpatient departments

Main Duties

  •  Facilitate the implementation of the Hospitals Strategic plan at the inpatient setting
  •  Lead the multidisciplinary teams involved in patient care providing clinical and administrative leadership
  •  To drive the process of continuous quality improvement in the inpatient departments by all levels of clinical, allied and support staff
  •  Oversee the development and implementation of clinical policies, SOPs, care pathways and evidence-based care practices in liaison with respective HODs and the Medical Director
  •  Coordinate and oversee the platforms of inpatient clinical effectiveness including Morbidity and Mortality meetings, case discussions etc. in liaison with HOD’s and the Medical Director
  •  Oversee the accurate capture, recording and tracking of outcome indicators, presenting unit performance and improvement plans to supervisors when required
  •  Monitor the clinical work of medical staff within specified frameworks and facilitate appropriate feedback mechanisms
  •  Human resource management including recruitment, induction, manning of units, performance management, appraisals and leave management in the inpatient department
  •  Ensure staff participation in all hospital capacity building initiatives
  •  Oversee the execution of patient centred care with a focus on timely service delivery, effective communication and patient education
  •  Provide administrative support to the training on medical interns and ongoing residency training programs in liaison with respective course directors
  •  Provide relevant expertise in various hospital committees as assigned by the hospital administration
  •  Prepare timely and quality reports of projects, assignments and processes as requested by the DMS
  •  Vetting and approval of new equipment needed for patient care
  •  Be a key member of a dynamic, progressive multi-disciplinary management team as well as clearly understand working in a corporate board, senior level management activities including development and implementation of Institutional strategic plan

Required Qualifications for the Position

  •  Degree in medicine (MBCHB)
  •  Master’s degree in any field of Medicine
  •  Post Graduate qualification in Management related course
  •  Be able to prepare and analyse reports and data
  •  Excellent negotiation and communication skills
  •  Minimum of at least Seven years of experience working in a Managerial Position

 

 

2.     Hospital Counsellor

Main Duties

  •  Counseling in/out patients on all psycho-social problems such as depression, terminal illnesses, and domestic violence to enable them deal with personal and work challenges
  •  Provide pre and post HIV counseling to clients
  •  Counsel staff on how to cope with personal problems and work, how to improve on performance and attitude and the ability to find resources within themselves to be able to improve and deal with challenges at work and in life
  •  Coordinate counseling services within the hospital to meet both client and hospital needs
  •  Coordinate with Head of Counseling and HR & Talent Development for preparation and counseling of new staff members for medical examination as need arises
  •  Provides education and information on psychological issues to clients and their families
  •  Properly manage consumables and assets within the section to maximize efficiency and cost control

Required Qualifications for the Position

  •  BA Counselling Psychology
  •  HIV/AIDS counselling
  •  Drugs and substance addiction counselling
  •  Membership of Counseling Association of Kenya

 

 

3.     Accident & Emergency Nurse

Main Duties

  •  Managing patients requiring critical care
  •  Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions, evaluating and documenting patient’s outcomes
  •  Providing appropriate healthcare services using Evidence-Based Practice
  •  Providing health education and counselling patients/clients and community on identified health needs
  •  Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans
  •  Maintaining records on patients /client’s health condition and care
  •  Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; and Collecting and compiling data

Required Qualifications for the Position

  •  Served in the A&E for a minimum period of two (2) years
  •  Must have BScN,KRCHN,KRN
  •  Higher Diploma in Accident & Emergency is an added advantage
  •  Valid and current Nursing Practicing License from Nursing Council of Kenya
  •  Certificate of Good Conduct
